The ParticipateDB 2018 Digital Engagement Census has been live for little over a week. Thanks to everyone who has already completed the online survey and helped spread the word.
Not quite knowing what to expect going in this project, it’s been fun to watch the first few dozen responses come in. A few highlights below.
We have identified at least three tools that had not previously been listed on ParticipateDB (they will be added sometime over the coming 2-3 weeks):
- CollabMap (by Arup): a tool to collect map-based feedback
- SmartForms (by Seamless): a tool that can be used to run online surveys
- Telegram: a messaging service that can be used for hosting group meetings
We’ve also collected a few interesting new project examples, including from some of the more well-established tools in the market:
- CiviComment
- Discuto
- EngagementHQ
- PlaceSpeak
- Social Pinpoint
So far, the respondents have self-identified their role as follows (multiple answers allowed, percentages may add up to more than 100%):
- Project staff (53.8%)
- Technology vendor (42.3%)
- Observer (5.8%)
- Participant (9.6%)
- Other (11.4%)
Responses are still coming in, so we’ve decided to extend the survey by one week. The new closing date is Monday, February 26 at midnight Pacific Time!
In case you haven’t done so already, please take a few minutes to complete the survey and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Thank you!
